You Are a Piercing Light

And so we have been given the prophetic word... and you will continue to do well if you stay focused on it. For this prophetic message is like a piercing light shining in a gloomy place.

2 Peter 1:19 (TPT)

What are the first recorded words of God? And God said, “Let there be light.” The power of light is the most potent force in the universe. It is divine and is of primary importance in your life. God created light to rule over darkness, not to hide under it. God makes it clear that light is separate from darkness.

Darkness goes down deep to a place of which you are not consciously aware. It secretly controls you and shuts you off from the presence of God. It affects how you feel, what you think, your motivations, and your physical body. It blurs the lines of spiritual reality and overshadows your hope with the intent to destroy your faith. When light penetrates the darkness, a separation occurs. The lies you believe, the things that keep you down and gloomy, will detach from you.

When darkness and light blend, chaos and confusion ensue. If you have any doubts, look at the last two years in our nation. How far has America fallen? Believers weaken and lose their power to rule if they compromise what God says is true with what man thinks is true. Today’s culture censors the truth and celebrates deception. You must be a light for a world groping in the gray fog of lies.

Return to the Word of God, for it is a piercing light, sharper than any double-edged sword. Light divides the darkness from you, releasing power to enable you to take authority over the dark. If you are living for Jesus, you have life, and His life is the light of men. Light constantly expands; it never contracts, so speak the truth no matter what men may do so their lives and yours will brighten.
