A Time to Laugh

The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. 13 But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.

Psalms 37:12-13 (NLT)

Laughter is a powerful and unique form of communication that can convey more than words ever could. It's acknowledging that there's more to life than what meets the eye. According to the experts, laughter is a vital part of wh at makes us human, and it's also one of the most contagious emotional experiences we can have. While we may not fully understand how it works, laughter has numerous health benefits, such as reducing stress, lowering anxiety, boosting the immune system, and improving blood pressure. If you tend to isolate yourself from others, particularly your brothers and sisters in Christ, your laughter will not be a distinctive characteristic of your soul. That's unfortunate because a merry heart is like medicine to your body.

Few people realize that laughter can be a powerful weapon against the devil. The laughter of the righteous confuses the devil and shows their unwavering faith in God's power. When you laugh at Satan's schemes, his power that wants to take hold of you loses its grip. Scripture tells us that God laughs at those who go against his chosen ones. His laughter is a way of communicating with us. God's laughter emits a frequency that is terrible for his enemies and pleasant for his friends. Your role is to align yourself with how God responds to the enemy's tactics and react similarly. Remember, laughter is contagious, so if you haven't separated yourself from Christ, you will learn to laugh, too. And why does God laugh at the devil? He sees the day of judgment prepared for him. When we share the same perspective and count it as joy when facing various trials and temptations, we resist the devil. Our resistance causes the devil to flee from us in stark terror.

Regardless of your difficulties, always remember that the joy of the Lord is your strength. One of the most challenging experiences we face is the death of a loved one. However, Jesus assures us that although we may grieve now, we will eventually laugh again! It is essential to take some time to find joy in your life, no matter how daunting the situation may seem. When things get tough and you feel like giving up, focus your attention on someone or something that brings a smile to your lips. Allow your smile to grow and let yourself burst into an infectious chuckle. Be an imitator of God and laugh at the devil!
