When the Righteous Take Authority

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)

Jesus said, “Knock, and the door shall open to you.” It takes courage to move forward in life and experience new opportunities. To start over again, repent, change your thoughts, friends, and direction in life, takes grit. People do not ask, seek, or knock because of fear. The dread of losing face, being embarrassed or failing far exceeds their hope of finding prosperity in a new way of living.

True grit characterized Christ, and it will be true of all His followers. You cannot receive the promises of God without a “different spirit.” You have to believe that in God all things are possible when everyone else is saying, “you can’t do that” or “you don’t have what it takes.”

The Lord did not create you to be a “pushover;” instead His plan for you is “to take the land” to take dominion wherever God leads you. The fear of failure is an iniquity that comes through the womb. God wants your life to glorify Him. He wants you to show others what is His good, acceptable and perfect will. You have to step out of complacency and take risks knowing the Lord is going to back you up. We please Him when others are saying “no” and yet we continue to believe and act on His promises that are saying “yes”!
