The Spirit of Herod

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts,

from two years old and under.

Matthew 2:16 (NKJV)

Satan is a killer of dreams and hopes. King Jesus is the true ruler over heaven and earth. He chose you to be His vessel of rulership on earth. Herod the Great who claimed the title “King of the Jews” is long dead yet the evil spirit he carried still thrives. It seeks to kill the promise of a new life in Christ. It works through people who make money in the abortion clinics, sex trafficking, drug addiction, and elite governing agencies. Herod, a word synonymous with ruler is like the title of president or sheriff in today’s language.

The spirit of Herod desires to take out anyone who is a threat to his kingdom. Herod the Great, when failing to kill baby Jesus, took out his murderous rage on all boys two and under in and around Bethlehem. In the next generation Herod Antipas, his son, imprisoned John the Baptist and later executed him. His nephew Herod Agrippa persecuted the early church killing James and imprisoning Peter.

Has the spirit of Herod targeted you? Are you oppressed and sluggish in your faith thwarted from achieving God’s purpose for your life? Saints we are in a battle against the rulers of darkness of this world. There is no doubt America is under attack and we must stand as the early church did. Herod planned to kill Peter. He survived to finish his life’s purpose because God’s people went into an intense season of prayer. We must not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. Wake up and move in the authority Jesus gave you. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit so you can move in His power and grace. Don’t allow the spirit of Herod to rule over this country and kill your dream. God chose you to be victorious!
