The Healing Tree of Life

The ways of wisdom are sweet, always drawing you into the place of wholeness. Seeking for her brings the discovery of untold blessings, for she is the healing tree of life to those who taste her fruits.

 Proverbs 3:17-18  (TPT)

Wisdom and understanding are valuable gifts of the Holy Spirit that every follower of Christ possesses. However, do we regularly connect with the Holy Spirit to utilize these gifts? We should strive to do so, as the wisdom of the wise is like a healing tree.

The first and last books of the Bible mention the Tree of Life, from Genesis to Revelation. Jesus refers to Himself as the first and the last. He is our source of wisdom. In the beginning, the LORD God created various trees that were not only beautiful but also bore delicious fruit. He placed two trees in the garden's center - the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God allowed Adam and Eve to eat from the first but warned them not to eat from the second one.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represents human wisdom which does not provide healing. Instead, consuming its fruits leads to conflicts, jealousy, and every form of evil. Despite this, it is often our default choice when making decisions. Righteous actions stem from a humble heart that listens to true wisdom for guidance. On the other hand, prideful actions create deeds that become like weeds in our lives and the lives of those around us. When will we reach the point of genuine humility, where our focus is less on ourselves where we rely entirely on Christ to direct our lives?

Jesus made it clear that He is the vine, and we are His branches. If we remain connected to Him, the fruit we bear will be both beautiful and delicious. However, if we rely on our own knowledge or opinions, we become barren. So, which tree are you eating from, my dear friend?
