The Gift of Alignment

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Our bodies speak to us when our muscles and joints get out of alignment. We feel the pain and seek relief, maybe through a massage or an aspirin bottle. But what happens when we misalign with God? Can we feel that? Careers, family, and social obligations can easily sidetrack us. We can wander off course and find ourselves in misery. Holy Spirit lives in every true believer. Our Father sent Him just as He sent Jesus, His Son, to die for us. Holy Spirit will keep us on course and gently counsel us to stay on course. The question is, are we aware of Him? Do we listen to Him and seek His wisdom?

Holy Spirit will always align with God. He is a gift that keeps on giving. If we receive Him as a gift from God, we will possess Him and carry Him in our hearts throughout our lives. We will access Him and allow Him to access us. Because we have freely received Him, we will also freely give of Him to others. He empowers us to witness and disciple believers to grow in Christ. As we surrender our wills to Him, we position ourselves to experience miracles, signs, and wonders; this is the glory of God!

We can stay aligned with heaven and all its beauties because Holy Spirit lives within us on earth. He will never leave or forsake us. He will lead, advise, and show us the life path God chooses. He is the One who enables us to pray unselfishly and effectively to receive answers that change our circumstances on earth. His prayers through us originate in heaven and come down to us as perfect gifts from the Father of Lights.

The Spirit of Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit. May we not forget Him or put Him in a box like a distasteful gift. Instead, we will taste Him daily and see that He is good. We will commune with Him and treasure Him as the gift that keeps on giving.
