Seeing Stars

And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him.

Matthew 2: 9-11 (ESV)

Wise men, kings, in fact, saw a rising star that continued to shine night after night. In their hearts, hope arose, for they believed the star signaled the Messiah’s birth. When the star began to move, they chose to roll with it. It led them to the place where Jesus and His mother were. And when they found Him, they worshipped Him.

Your faith grows best in the dark. The sunny days of abundance afford you but little need for faith. When your path is uncertain, and life is challenging, your faith stretches as you look up to Jesus. Without Him, you are at a loss to navigate the twists and turns of your life. He is the north star that leads you to a place in Him you’ve never been before.

Jesus desires to have the starring role in your life. If you make Him the center of your universe, you, too, will become a star for others to follow. Your deepest wish will be that everyone will see the bright and morning star right before dawn.
