Forget, Fight, & Move Forward

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, saying, “God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s household.”

Genesis 41:51 (BSB)

God has a high calling on your life. To reach it, don't look behind; instead, fight on, moving forward to the goodness of the future. If we dwell on life's pain and disappointments, we will miss the opportunities God is setting before us. Brooding over what lies behind us closes our eyes to the shining path of life.

Joseph's life assignment was huge. He fulfilled it by holding on to the dream God gave Him despite the persecution and injustice he endured. He named his first-born son Manasseh, meaning the Lord has caused me to forget the troubles of my Father's household. Sometimes, you strive to forget but can't. Why not focus on the blessings that are springing up in your life? Can't you see them? If you open the eyes of your faith to see them, God can heal you of every bad memory.

In every life's challenge, fight through it by exercising your faith in the goodness of God. Look ahead for the next thing, trusting that Jesus makes all things new. If you blew it yesterday, take heart because God's mercies to you are new every morning. You must do your part; in return, God will do what you cannot do. Forget, fight, and move forward to reach God's highest purpose for you!
