Blessed Are Those Who Hear the Word of God & Obey It

“Yes,” said Jesus. “But God will bless all who listen to the word of God and carefully obey everything they hear.”

Hearing aids bless anyone with a hearing problem. But folks can easily misplace them due to their small size. When that happens, you can imagine how a person could feel isolated and at a loss until they find them.

Every true believer has a hearing aid in the person of the Holy Spirit. He lives within us because we belong to Christ. He enables us to hear God's voice. When we obey what He says, His blessings flow into our lives. If we disobey the Lord, we miss out on the rewards He desires to give us.

Many Christians live a life ignoring the Holy Spirit's still small voice, and they do so to their harm. Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit as our comforter, counselor, and helper. He will never leave us. We can resist Him if we are unaware of where He resides. When we do this, we open the door for the devil to wreak havoc in our lives.

Jesus loves us and wants to bless us. The key to living an abundant life is to recognize the Holy Spirit within us and listen with an intent to obey what He is saying. He may speak to us in many ways through the Word, a sermon, or a friend's instruction, so we must be alert and expect to hear from Him. Have you got a hearing problem, beloved?
