Spring Cleaning
Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy (Ps. 126:5).
Ecclesiastes 3 begins with the subject of time and seasons. Timing may not be everything, but it is vital in living a life that matters. Verse 6 of that chapter admonishes the reader that there is a time to keep and a time to throw away. The wise person knows the difference between treasure and trash, what to hold to and what to leave behind.
The houses we live in accumulate dust in the crevices and crannies of each room.
The cobwebs that hang from our ceilings and the grease that mounts up on our kitchen cabinets can easily go unnoticed. “Stuff” sticks around until you make a quality decision to get rid of it. Spring-cleaning requires labor but at the end of the day when the work is done we breathe in the sweet smell of fresh and we swell with joy!
As you move toward Passover and the Resurrection Day of Jesus take a close look at what’s gone unnoticed within the chambers of your heart. Has un-forgiveness and anger got you stuck? What are you stuffing that needs to go? Leave it behind and spring forward into joy.
