Divine Energy

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6KJV).

Like a hamster on a wheel we can spend our days spinning around getting nowhere. Dead works produce nothing of any real value and yet they exact much from our time and energy. A dead work will keep you busy by doing the same things over and again for no eternal value. The carnal mind operates without the wisdom of the Holy Spirit neglecting the power and creativity of God’s resources.

Can you convert to a higher life in the midst of your days, a useful life that counts? You can when you move from the power of your own thoughts and ideas to the energy of the mind of Christ. In the sprouting of the tiniest seed, we see the potential of a higher life. Something must first die in you so something greater can be. A higher form of life can come into being when you surrender to God’s design for your life.

The Greek word for energy is “energia” meaning in or at work. It is the same word used for “power” in the Bible. We move in this power as we die to the energy of our souls and live and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Every work of our life in and by the Holy Spirit produces life and peace, and every work apart from Him produces death.

Father God I turn back to you. I want to live a life that counts. Give me grace to die to my own low life that I may experience your life in and through me. Fill me Holy Spirit and show me how to live, move, and be in you. In Christ Jesus I pray, Amen.
