Turning the Bitter to Sweet

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it

(Ps. 139:13-14).

Bitterness is hazardous to your health! Research indicates bitterness leads to physical problems like heart disease and a weak immune system. Proverbs 14: 30 corroborates these studies stating “ A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones.”

You cannot tame the green-eyed monster of jealousy in your life. You can skillfully hide it or deny it, but that is no defense from its harmful effects. Because jealousy comes out of the heart, it impacts everything and everyone in your life. Can you turn the bitterness of resentment into sweetness by making it a catalyst to change your life? Yes, you can by merely accepting yourself and owning the truth. Take time to consider what triggers your jealousy and where the root of it lies. Talk with Jesus about it and surrender it to Him asking him to cleanse you of it daily.

Jealousy is a sign that says, “ You are ignoring the gift you are to the world.” Instead of focusing on what others have or do, center on who God made you be. He amazingly and miraculously created you. He gave you fingerprints that declare there is no one in this world like you! You are made in His image to develop and make the world a better place while you are here. God got it right when He created you. Thank Him for who you are and who you are meant to be. Surrender all of yourself to Him through your faith in Jesus Christ turning the bitter to sweet.
