Contemplation Brings Transformation

But their minds were made dull... But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away… who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory (2 Cor. 3:14-18 NKJV).

Are there days when your mind is dull, and you can’t seem to put one foot in front of another? Sin will cloud your mind to the love of Christ and his desire for you. Your thoughts become very dismal indeed when days on end you stare at FaceBook, TV or the like rather than seek the face of the Lord.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NKJV) says, “If the ax is dull, and one does not sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; but wisdom brings success.” The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Our dull minds sharpen as we turn to the Lord, and he removes the veil from the eyes of our hearts. It’s amazing how off we can be and not even know it because we have normalized our thinking to that of the world around us.

To behold the beauty of the Lord perfects your mind to spiritual things. God gave you the imagination to see him. He sees you, and you can see him. But you must turn to him and look full in his beautiful face. Meditate on his goodness, mumble his praise throughout your day and as you worship him, you will become like him. Contemplate good news, and you will rise and in due time what you see will materialize.
