The Days of Your Life

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be (Ps. 139:16).

My brother-in-law once said, “I can’t believe in a God that makes you feel so insignificant.” What he did not know is that God had ordained the days of his life including the day he had a heart attack. Soon after that at the age of 40, he gave His life to Christ, and the change in Him was undeniable.

Jesus knows the end from the beginning. The Lord knows His children before they enter the womb. God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. Our lives are no surprise to Him. The mistakes we have made even the darkest times of our past are no shocker to God. The shame of our past turns to His glory as we receive Christ and surrender our lives to Him.

Our lives do matter. We have a purpose. All things are ours in Christ. God does not predetermine our lives, but He surely predestines us to choose life instead of death. He is sovereign and yet He gives us free will to choose what He desires for us. May the pages of your life be many and may they reflect the glory of our God.
