God Can Heal Your Mind

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting for the one who doubts... that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (James 1:6-8).

Your mind, is it stable or unstable? Are you confident in God assured of His love and protection while at other times fearful and angry taking matters into your hands to gain the desired outcome? James, the Apostle, referred to such believers as double minded. The Greek word he used “dispuchos” refers to a "two-souled" person.

If you struggle with two minds, you have two interests, which oppose each other. Divided within, you are uncertain between two opinions. Essentially you are in conflict with yourself making it impossible for God to answer your prayers. When we pray believing, doubting not, we receive generously from God, beyond what we can even imagine. A believer who believes but also doubts is he really a believer? The Lord is merciful He will heal such a person if he cries out, “Lord I believe but help my unbelief.”

How can one who identifies with Jesus Christ experience doubt or fear? Such a person says He believes in God and trusts Him, but doubts continue to plague him. Apostle James pointed out the ailment of a double-mind as well as the cure, healing prayer. Confessing your faults to one another and praying for one another will heal your mind. God heals through His people, human vessels sanctified by His power. There is no cure for the believer who isolates and refuses to commune with the One true God who manifests Himself through His people.
