Bold As a Lion
For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain, we had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition
(1 Thess. 2:1-2).
The King of Beasts, lions are both formidable and agile. Fearless are they walking with striking confidence. Scripture describes Jesus as the Lion of Judah and Satan as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Jesus gives us His righteousness while the devil tries to destroy it.
In Proverbs 28:1, the Holy Spirit says that the righteous are as bold as a lion. A true believer knows his righteousness is not of himself but is a gift God grants him. Boldness will become part of any believers’ life because his identity is in Christ. As Christ is so are His followers in this world.
Be bold because we live in a world that calls good evil and evil good where people play in church yet work at sin. Be bold in the humdrum day in and day out grind of life. Say no because God says so and say yes because God says so in spite of what others will say about you. The strength that will follow will amaze you.
No one approaches a lion to trifle with it. The righteousness that God establishes in you sets you apart from the devil’s aim to oppress and terrorize you. You boldly say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” Christ makes His people unto God as kings and priests, and they shall reign on the earth!
