Walk to the Light

What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will…walk among them, and I will be their God ( 2 Cor. 6:16).

The prophet, Amos, asked this question of God’s people, “Can two walk together except they be agreed?” Is it possible for people to walk through life together in spite of differing perspectives and opinions? Haven’t long time marriages and friendships survived many disagreements and failures of seeing “eye to eye”? What was Amos aiming at with such a question?

You can walk together with another if your thinking on issues is at odds but you cannot walk together without agreeing on the direction of your walk. Amos was communicating God’s thoughts to God’s people who had turned from Him to idols. Idols are nothing but the demons behind them are real. When we move toward darkness, we are not walking with God.

Faith is necessary for you to walk with God. He will actually orchestrate circumstances on your behalf so you can know Him beyond your reason or logic. While you may not agree with the way of which God is taking you when you get to the destination, you will.
