The Kingdom of Heaven
The people which sat in darkness saw great light…17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”.
(Matt 4:16-17)
God’s has two families. He has one in heaven and one on earth. The Kingdom of Heaven also comprises both heaven and earth. If you are under the reign of Jesus then He is your king and you are in His kingdom. Not everyone who professes Christ is in His Kingdom because the Holy Spirit is not in them nor does He govern their lives.
Only a person who is a true disciple of Jesus can enter His Kingdom. This person will suffer many trials to enter in but he will prevail through patience. To suffer like Christ is to lay down your selfish ambitions for the desires of Christ for your life. Jesus will give you opportunities to serve Him. He will open mighty doors for you. As He opens them if you go through them your selfish drives will say, “ Don’t go in, there is an easier way, go this way instead”. If you patiently go through even though persecutions and hardships abound God will reward you with abundant life. If you suffer with Christ you will also reign with Him.
The Kingdom of God is not a geographical place. You cannot go find it on a map because it’s right where you are, inside your spirit. When you give your life to Christ you step inside the bubble of the Kingdom. Inside this bubble are many opportunities to change your life and to change the lives of others. Breakthroughs come to those who are in God’s kingdom. Inside it there is righteousness, peace, and joy, which includes divine protection. In this world of terror the Kingdom is the safest place to be.
