What's Your Eye Condition?

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

(John 3:21)

Poor vision strikes the young and the old and makes everyday life difficult. The challenge of reading fine print can be frustrating, and the blurring of loved ones’ faces is heartbreaking. Life gets bumpy when your eyesight is bad.

Jesus teaches us that our eye is the light to the whole body. If our eye is right, our whole body will be full of light. He warns us to make sure that the light we think we have is not actually darkness. The judgments we make about others and ourselves

will always be dark if made apart from the light of God’s word. Only the Holy Spirit can show us the truth and how things are.

How we see every life situation we encounter will ultimately make us light or fill us with gloom. If we see things in God’s light we will be able to overcome because we will follow the wisdom He shows us. Everything you tell yourself forms your reality whether it is true or not. Your life can change for the better if what you are seeing aligns with the truth. How you see God, yourself, and others depend on the condition of your heart.

Live in the light and you will plainly see, how to live.
