Restoration
"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another." -2 Corinthians 3:16-18 ESV Very early in our marriage, my husband had a 1964 Chevelle Super Sport. It was a pile of junk in the backyard of his parent’s house. When he sold it for $200, we both thought what a deal. If we had worked to restore the vehicle to its original showroom appearance in today’s market, it is worth more than $50,000. Restoration brings the glory. Jesus chose me while I was yet in sin and he started an internal work in me that continues today. Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 1:28-29, New King James Version, “… the things that are despised God has chosen, and the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence”. Jesus takes a piece of human junk out of Adam and Eve’s backyard and makes it a treasure so all the world will know that He is God. God chooses the nobodies of the world to make them somebodies. I am thankful that God created me in His image. I acknowledge that sin marred that beauty. I am glad that Jesus took me out of the garbage heap to restore me to God’s original design and purpose. I am confident that the work he began in me He will finish in my life. And in yours! To God is the glory!
