What's In Your Mouth

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak (2 Corinthians 4:13 NKJV).

In Mark 11:22-24, Jesus was teaching His disciples about faith. He told them, "Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith" (KJV). Your heart and mouth are inextricably linked. Your mouth will speak what your heart believes. Your faith will move mountains when you say what you believe.

Faith backed up by Jesus's love for you, and your love for Him is powerful. Jesus desires to protect and prosper you. On the other hand, the devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy you and your family. When you understand that and pray from that perspective, you can face off with any metaphorical mountain to remove it with God's word coming out of your mouth.

You need to understand that you activate the faith in your heart when your tongue aligns with what you believe in your heart. Confront your mountain and voice what you believe. If that mountain hears your voice, it will move, but if you remain mute, it will not dislodge. The spirit of fear takes away your voice, but the spirit of faith galvanizes your voice. Romans 10:8 lines it out beautifully: But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach). So the question is, what is in your mouth? If it is not faith, open up your mouth and ask God to fill it with His confidence!
