Walk On
Trust in ADONAI with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him; then he will level your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (CJB 2016)
Jesus often made brutal statements. His remarks about hell may surprise you. Yes, hell is a real place, just like heaven. We choose our destination by either rejecting our Savior or accepting Him. That aside, Jesus said something interesting about your foot. He said, "If your foot becomes a snare for you, cut it off and throw it away!" Our choices along life's path can bring heaven or hell into our life. When it comes to any sin, we must cut it off, or it will lead us down a path of destruction.
We can change our path if we get off on the wrong foot. The Holy Spirit will guide us if we acknowledge Him as we face every problematic situation. Leaning on our opinions can get us out of step with the Spirit moving us into error. We must remember the Lord; if we ask for wisdom, He will provide it. How easy is it to do things without asking for guidance? Planning a medical procedure, deciding what college to attend, or starting a business are all significant decisions people make without seeking the Lord. Whether major or minor, how would our lives be better if we trusted the Lord to lead us?
Choices are tests of our hearts and the God or gods we follow. What we decide exposes the condition of our hearts. Things are not as they appear. Our wits are not enough. We must choose with God's wisdom through what He reveals to us. This is a season to begin again, friend. Put your best foot forward and walk on in the Lord.
