Righteous Ones Live by Faith

So in this way the Scripture was fulfilled: Because Abraham believed God, his faith was exchanged for God’s righteousness. So he became known as the lover of God. James 2:23 (TPT)

What does it look like to live by faith? Our faith in God is essential in navigating the rough and rowdy passages that all of us go through. Living on planet earth can be dangerous. Though you love the Lord with all your heart, you realize you are not exempt from life’s afflictions. The Word promises that though the righteous man has many troubles, the Lord will deliver him out of them all.

The world’s wisdom complicates things, but God’s wisdom is simple. When you have a problem, He wants you to come and lean on the arms of Jesus and say, “Lord, fix it for me.” You exchange your faith for His righteousness which is His lovingkindness. Your relationship with God is real because you live in the Lord and the Lord, and His Word lives in you.

Faith is the substance of things we hope for, the evidence of the things not yet seen. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. If Jesus inspected your life right now, would He find faith in you rather than fear and doubt? If you can trust in Christ for your salvation from hell, why can’t you trust Him for the good things He wants to give you every day?

We exchange our faith for God’s righteousness when we pray boldly before His throne. We do the same when our words line up with our faith. Most importantly, we obey what God is telling us to do. Miracles manifest in our life when we follow the instructions of the Lord.
