Night Visions
"For God speaks once, and even twice, yet no one notices it... In a dream, a vision of the night [one may hear God's voice], when deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed, Then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction, That He may turn man aside from his conduct, and keep him from pride.” Job 33:14-17 (AMP)
Do you see what God sees? Apostle Paul relentlessly prayed for God to open the eyes of the hearts of the saints he oversaw. Your heart will determine your outlook on life, how you see circumstances, and how you see God in them. Most people see the world with the eyes of their heads rather than their hearts.
The heart has eyes. Once opened, God's goodness comes into view, and the lines of communication with Him increase. God is speaking to you. Nothing is wrong with the transmission of His message, but your pride and self-righteousness can block the reception of it. It's the blindness of your heart that the devil counts on to deceive you. And yet the Lord does not stop to get the message to you.
Are you noticing what God is saying to you? Examine the receptacle, your heart, to make sure this world's cares are not interfering. Also, check your pursuit of worldly pleasures that have the power to intoxicate, leaving you unable to see what God is saying to you. The Lord can remove the veil of self-doubt, fear, and anger from your heart. All of which block his communication with you.
Ask the Lord to sharpen your spiritual vision. Notice cycles in your life and the little things that keep repeating. The Lord speaks amid patterns, but you must notice them to find resolve and wisdom. Take note of your dreams too. They come at night to enlighten your days. As you meditate on His word, the Lord will show you things. Do not dismiss the pictures you see as you quiet your mind and remove yourself from the darkness of this world. We have night vision through the eyes of our hearts.
