Love Heals
In Psalms 107:17-21 (TPT), we read: Some of us were such fools, bringing ourselves sorrow and suffering all because of our sins. Sick and feeble, unable to stand the sight of food, we drew near the death gates. Then we cried out, "Lord, help us! Rescue us!" And he did! God spoke the words "Be healed," and we were healed, delivered from death's door! So lift your hands and give thanks to God for his marvelous kindness and for his miracles of mercy for those he loves!
Can it be true that we bring on ourselves suffering and sickness? No, not in all cases but indeed in some. Sins of the flesh can bring damage to both our souls and bodies. Hate aims to kill, but love has the power to heal. We should all learn a lesson from the psalmist to consider the Lord's lovingkindness and mercy. He is the God of second chances. He stands ready to heal our disloyalty to Him, to freely love us, turning his anger from us as we turn to Him in repentance.
The many afflictions of this world make it hard for us to understand the love of God. We get out of whack with Him and ourselves, leading us into sin that pays dividends of death. The god of this world steals, kills, and destroys. He finds pleasure when man lives in disharmony with His Creator and Father. He delights in the suffering of people. He sheds innocent blood and has no regard for anything decent and righteous. When our focus is upon the darkness of this world, and we attribute it to the Father of Lights, we will undoubtedly suffer, grow cold in our love, and have minimal regard for our fellow man who God created in His image.
You will never know how to love yourself and others until you first see God's love for you. Though it is incomprehensible, we are to grasp it and hold tight to it through our difficult journey on earth. It's time to turn to God, seek His face, and think about His compassion for you despite your many failures and weaknesses. Be conscious of keeping yourself in His love and looking for His mercy miracles to come to you. Beloved, step into the unseen realm of glory by faith and experience God who is Love.
