Healing for Our Wounded Souls
Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.
3 John 1:2 (TPT)
Jesus thinks of you as His beloved friend. He cherishes your soul and desires to see you prosper and enjoy good health. He teaches us that the way our soul goes, our body is sure to follow. Physical health and emotional well-being go hand in hand. For instance there is a link between depression and many diseases, cardiovascular being one of them.
Fear, anxiety, and anger play a big part in how we process life events. Living with these emotions daily is affecting our health and close relationships. We all go through things in this life. Our sins and those who have sinned against us wound us. Corruption thrives in the lesions of our souls, and if we nurse them, they only worsen. We have a Savior. He did not die to save us so we can continue to sin and go to heaven. He died and rose again to redeem us and deliver us from our sin.
Jesus is your healer. Call on Him to restore you and give back what the devil has stolen. He can rescue you, but you must listen to Him and obey His instructions. If we commit our souls to Him, He will establish our thoughts. He can make your thoughts like His. And His thoughts toward you are never evil but always good.
Life is too short to allow self-pity and bitterness to hinder the joy of God’s divine purpose for you. Make Jesus your beloved Friend and your number one priority. Commune with Him daily and listen for His voice of instruction. If you do so, your wounded soul will progressively heal, and your body will thank you.
