A Doorway of Hope

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon…. when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold

1 Samuel 5:2,4 (NKJV)

A doorway of hope is before you and as you step over the threshold, victory is on the other side. Are you willing to crossover? What will it take for you to make this leap of faith? Wrong mindsets must break off. False images and the idols you cling to must go. Are you brave enough to make the necessary separations to prosper in ways you have not yet experienced? What seems impossible can suddenly be possible with your unswerving faith in His faithfulness.

Though idols are nothing, the demons behind them are real. False gods always disappoint, confuse, and, in the end, destroy you. They do not have the life of God in them since they are mere figments of your imagination. In times of trouble, you must contemplate who or what you turn to for comfort or guidance. What do you hold up as your ultimate source of happiness and success other than our God? Transitions require a separation of some kind from something untrue. Ideologies, dreams, guilt, and even hope can all be false.

Idols will always keep you looking back instead of going forward. In Christ, you go from glory to glory. Your transformation is progressive as you yield your will to Him. You get lighter and lighter and go higher and higher. You fall deeper in love with Jesus, and your love for all people expands. The hope and security you find only in Christ will not let you down because it is alive and real. As you cross over for a new beginning, you leave your idols smashed at the threshold, crushed under your feet by the God of peace!
