A Babe in Arms?

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father... You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes.

Babies, you got to love them! We know cute when we see it. Who can resist the smile of a child? At their cry, we rush to calm them. Are you down today? Watch a video of babies laughing and see how your day brightens. Their innocence and helplessness invite us to care for them even though they are not our own. God wired us that way because He is the same.

December’s dark days brighten when you look to the babe in the manger. You must never overlook the humanity of Christ. God came to be with you, help you, and give you hope and grace to endure. Jesus understands your limitations and weaknesses. He gets you because what you go through as a human, Christ shared in the same yet without sin. He sympathizes with your pain and knows how to help you.

You will never know who Jesus is without becoming like a little child. Exchange your pride for humility. When your wisdom and pretense go the embrace of the Master comes. He wants to catch you when you fall. But if you think you can stand anything on your own, what support can He be to you? He came to us as a helpless babe, so we must go to Him as the same.
