Practice Pulling Down Strongholds
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV).
The importance of high ground in battle is paramount. Soldiers take the high ground to force the enemy to attack from a subordinate position. Fighting from an elevated location gives you a definite advantage over your opponent. You have a full range field of vision, enabling you to track your opponent’s movements and cut him off quickly. Everyone knows that up-hill battles are exhausting and are usually lost.
If you belong to Jesus, you have an enemy. The devil steals from you. He takes pleasure in tormenting you and hindering your progress in the Lord. If he has a stronghold in your mind, you will give up and surrender to fear and shame. The devil defeats you through what you think of yourself and others. If you believe his propaganda, you will feel the Lord is holding out on you. Satan and his minions take the high ground when you allow him to override your thought life.
The good news is that the weapons of our warfare are not of human design but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Practice pulling down any negative thought that has a hold on you from its elevated position. The highest spot on your body is your head. What is in your headspace that knocks you down to your feet? You bow your head to the devil when you accept his lies.
Jesus said, “lift up your heads for your redemption draws nigh.” Take your position in the highest place, which is in Christ, and sit with him there in glory. Meditate on His love for you and His desire to give you life abundantly. View what the devil does from that position, and you will gain wisdom to know how to defeat him. Pull his lies low by declaring God’s word and “see him go down in flames.” Then put him under your feet and wear your crown of victory!
