Don’t Give Up!
“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised”(Heb. 10:35-36).
Feelings move us. Unfortunately, they often rule us. When our emotions dictate our actions we lose “the fight of faith” we are destined to win. When your feelings tell you “It’s just to hard” take one more punch. Patient endurance ensures our victory not our good intentions, our good luck, or good genes!
Don’t give up when you fall into sin again. Instead of digging a deeper hole for yourself lift your eyes for help. Get clean by admitting your wrongdoing and asking God and others to forgive you. Do not allow your knockdown to be your knock out. Get on your feet and stay in the fight.
Don’t give up when your prayers go unanswered. God is at work in a way you cannot see. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know how to pray. Jesus said, “Men should always pray and not lose heart.” Prayer is spiritual warfare. Don’t desert your battlefield because the battle belongs to the Lord.
Don’t give up when your enemy seems to be too big to fight. It’s not the size of the enemy in the fight that matters but the size of the fight in you. Jesus is your prizefighter, and he has already won the prize. When we are weak, he is strong. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Grace is yours if you access it.
Stay in there and “fight, fight, fight”!
