Who Am I?

…for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness…

(1 Thess. 5:5.)

Why were you born and what is your purpose in life? Why are you living now in this particular generation rather than one long ago? Who are you? Is it possible to gain answers to these questions or are they merely philosophical musings void of any significance? Scripture makes it clear that God created human beings in His likeness. The first step in finding out the real you and discovering your purpose in life is that God is your Father and He created you in His image. God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all.

Holy Spirit showed me that I like God, am a spirit. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and my soul houses my will, mind, and emotions. When Jesus Christ revealed himself to me, I became a new person not in my personality or even my emotional make-up but in my spirit. He gave me a pure heart, a new nature. He made me a life-giving spirit one that is alive to my Father.

You have the same Father that Jesus has. God is the “Father of Lights.” Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world” but Christ also said that those who follow Him are the “light of the world.” As you begin to see yourself as a son of Light your purpose in life will become plain to see. How God sees you is the key to unlocking the mystery of who you are.
