Gates of Wisdom
Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. 34. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.
Proverbs 8:33-34 (ESV)
Knowledge can be a talking head, but wisdom listens with intent to obey. Wise people know who they are and embrace there neediness to know God and to follow His light. People need understanding and should ask for it from God and from people who fear God and live in His ways The simple act of asking is difficult for many people because the one they are asking something of has something they do not have.
If we sit daily at the gates of wisdom, our lives will benefit. City gates, often mentioned in the Bible, were essential places where people transacted business and meted out judgment. The elders sat at the gates and governed the city. Wisdom will rule your life if you can humble yourself to receive and obey it. The Lord has many instructions and visions to share with you so you will rise and be a light for others groping in the darkness.
Gates are access points. You have to go through the gate to get anywhere. The wisdom of God most often operates through people. Do not allow pride to block your access to them. Value them for the revelation they impart you. The real mark of wisdom in your life will be stability in turbulent times. While many will waver and fall wisdom will light your way and protect you.
