Knock, Knock, Knocking on Hell’s Door

We must not put Christ to the test... nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer (1Cor. 10: 9-10).

Newsflash, your quality of life depends on your attitude. You’ll always have situations in your life that are not of your choosing, but you can choose your reactions to those situations. Apostle Paul of all people had reason to complain about the circumstances of his life, and yet he saw the good in the worst conditions. He said, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” If we are unthankful, complaining, and crabby, we aren’t in God’s will and being out of God’s will leaves you vulnerable to darkness and mishap.

The Destroyer is real. Satan enters your world to annihilate all that is wholesome and righteous in it via your words. You may think that complaining is harmless and that venting is good for you. In fact, you are wrong. Negativity leads to more negativity to the point where you are blind to God’s goodness and mercy. Ingratitude poisons your palate. You cannot taste the Lord’s goodness because your dark thoughts become food offerings sacrificed to your idols. Ungratefulness poisons your attitude; it destroys relationships that God gives you to bring you to a better place in life.

You knock on the door of the devil when you grumble and complain and he is sure to answer it. No matter how bad the situation is, the devil wants to make it worse. He wants to compound your suffering so that you will rebel against God and His plans for prosperity in your life. Stay thankful, and you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
