Change or Transformation
….the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints… which is Christ in you, the hope of glory-
(Colossians 1:26-27ESV).
When people are down and out they will tell you “I want to change” or “My life needs to change.” It’s true that people want their lives to change for the better. But change is different than transformation. Conversion makes you a new person in spite of your circumstances while change may only give you a temporary escape route out of your problems. Change can be fleeting, but transformation is always eternal.
Jesus Christ does not want to improve you or fix you He desires to transform you. Your life will change when you surrender your will to Jesus. It will have to change because you will become a new person. Your natural goodness will be no more for in Christ the old passes away, and all things become new. Christ will germinate within you and burst out with His character, His thoughts, and His ways.
Sermons may inform you. Bible studies may give you knowledge, but revelation transforms you. People can clean up on the outside and may fake it to make it, but only a revelation of Christ will set you apart from the person you once were.
