Rooted or Robbed
Be careful not to let anyone rob you {of this faith} through a shallow and misleading philosophy... rather than following Christ (Colossians 2:8 GW).
How can a person rob you of your faith? Is it possible that someone could sway you with enticing words to follow a shallow or watered-down gospel? If you think that faith in Christ is a ticket to heaven only, you may be a victim of such a robbery.
If your belief centers on going to heaven rather than growth rooted in Christ ask yourself “Who's robbed me?" If your faith is one of convenience, comfort, and carnality, you may want to take a second look at whom you are following.
People can lead you away from following Christ by what they say and how they live. You may think not, but it’s a fact because Apostle Paul clearly warned us of it. Someone may not mislead you from believing in Christ, but people can mislead you on how to follow Him. Jesus was adamant when He said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me”.
Your initial decision to receive Jesus is an empty one if growth and maturity have not supported it. What is following your life? Honestly, answer that question and you'll discover if someone has robbed your faith.
